Satvik Veena exponent Salil Bhatt has been conferred the prestigious Maharana Mewar Foundation Award for his outstanding achievements and his meritorious services rendered in the field of Indian classical music. Salil Bhatt is the illustrous son of Grammy Award Winner Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt. Salil Bhatt has created a new version of the traditional veena named as the 'Satvik Veena' for which he is receiving innumerable accolades and rave reviews all over the world.

The award function was held at the Udaipur City Palace on the 6th of March, 2005. This award carries Rs. 10,000 cash, Shawl and a silver Toran and was presented by His Highness Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur. Salil Bhatt also gave an exclusive Satvik Veena Recital on the 5th of March, 2005 in City Palace, Udaipur for the royal family and was awarded Rs. 50000 for the recital.
